Commercial Roof Inspection Reveals Damaged Copper Flashing & Mold Growth

This project involved a detailed drone roof inspection for a commercial property in Rhode Island. Using high-resolution aerial imaging, we were able to identify two major concerns:

  1. Degraded Copper Flashing:

The copper flashing—an essential component for directing water away from roof joints—showed signs of heavy corrosion and wear. Left unaddressed, this could lead to water intrusion and interior damage.

  2. Mold on Asphalt Shingles:

Several sections of the roofing surface showed visible mold growth, likely caused by prolonged moisture retention. Mold not only compromises roofing materials but also indicates potential issues with ventilation or drainage.

Our drone inspection process allows commercial property owners and contractors to detect hidden issues without invasive methods, improving both speed and safety. All findings were delivered in a full-resolution video package and report, providing actionable insight for maintenance planning.
